Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Crystalyn Z. Yason, the owner and designer of Cryst Jewelries. My passion in jewelry making and design started in 2001 when my mom and I ran a small jewelry business. I designed and handcrafted all the pieces in the Cryst Jewelries' collection and my online store specializes in providing clients with elegant and one-of-a-kind jewelries.

Apart from selling online, what do you do?

I am full-time in running the online store – from designing and handcrafting the pieces, marketing and helping clients with their orders.

What first made you want to become an online seller?

Back in 2006, when my husband and I temporarily moved to the US, I always stayed at home because my visa does not allow me to work. Since I always have lots of free time, I started to study new jewelry making techniques and also studied how to sell products online. Several years after, when my husband and I moved back to the Philippines is when I launched my online store.

What accessory do you most cherish?

My wedding ring is my most cherished accessory. Secondly are my bracelets that I handcrafted when I was still learning new jewelry making techniques.

What advice would you give to Filipinos who are new to Online Store Business?

The first advice I would like give is to find what you are passionate about because starting an online business is hard. So to get through difficult times you must find what you love and enjoy doing. The next advice I would give is always give your 100% to your client - provide them with a very good customer service and high quality products, they are the reason why the business exists in the first place, so treat them well.

What new features would you like to see on Shopfinder.ph?

The feature I would like to see is the statistics on how many users have viewed my profile. Overall/total views is fine, but monthly statistics would be great.

How do you promote your products?

I post information about my business and products to social networking sites (Facebook, Multiply, Twitter and Friendster). I also post information about my business and products to free directories, advertising sites and appropriate forums.

In ten years, where would you like to be?

Ten year from now, I want Cryst Jewelries to be the first destination of clients seeking elegant and one-of-kind jewelries. But for now, what is important is that I'm enjoying what I do, and that is designing and handcrafting jewelries and seeing how my clients appreciate my work – their wonderful feedback and their smiles are priceless.
